SeaWorld Orlando Returns 11 Endangered Kemp's Ridley Sea Turtles

This morning, our Animal Rescue Team headed out to the Canaveral National Seashore to return 11 endangered Kemp’s ridley sea turtles to the warm waters of the Atlantic Ocean. Today’s return brings the total number of sea turtles returned by the SeaWorld Orlando Animal Rescue Team to more than 50 this year alone.

SeaWorld Orlando Participates in Earth Day Cleanup

Although we celebrate Earth Day every day at SeaWorld Orlando, each year our SeaWorld Cares team works on a local environment-project in celebration of our planet. This past weekend our SeaWorld Cares team assisted with a variety of land management projects, including invasive plant removal, at Nehrling Gardens. These historic gardens were established in 1885 by famed horticulturalist, Henry Nehrling.

Arbor Day was first observed in Nebraska in 1872. That state is now home to one of the world’s largest forests planted by people – over 200,000 acres of trees.

Late last week our Animal Rescue Team responded to multiple resident calls about a distressed Great Blue Heron wandering a local neighborhood with an aluminum soda can stuck on its bill.

CUTE ALERT: Two Rescued Pelicans Bond Together and Find Friendship at SeaWorld Orlando

For the past month, our Animal Rescue Team, including veterinarians and aviculturists, has been caring for two American white pelicans that were brought to SeaWorld for rehabilitation due to substantial injuries.

SeaWorld Orlando Animal Rescue Team Returns Highest Amount of Turtles in 5 Years

This morning, our SeaWorld Orlando Animal Rescue Team returned 17 juvenile Kemp’s ridley sea turtles to Canaveral National Seashore. This is the largest turtle return we've had since 2010 when our team returned 30 turtles back to the ocean, all of which were rescued from a massive oil spill near the Gulf of Mexico.

SeaWorld Cares Team Participates in Waterway Cleanup

SeaWorld’s conservation efforts go beyond its animal rescue, rehabilitation and return program; it extends to preserving the natural world around us. This month, a group of about 20 caring and dedicated SeaWorld Orlando team members participated in the Waterway Cleanup at La Costa Urban Wetlands in Orlando, Fla.
