Over the past three years, I have had the pleasure meeting some of the most amazing people and animals from all over the world. I am a Sr. Associate Publicist for the National Publicity department with SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment assisting with PR efforts for our 10 parks. I have been one of the key day-to-day contacts for our UK, German and Canadian PR agencies. I have worked on PR campaigns for SeaWorld and Busch Garden's events -- Bands, Brew & BBQ, a country and classic rock concert series, and SeaWorld's Christmas Celebration. Along with assisting with the opening of Manta, SeaWorld's flying roller coaster, and Aquatica, SeaWorld's Waterpark, I have hosted many celebrities and star athletes at our parks.
What makes my job so cool is that I get to travel with our animal ambassadors across the country to appear on national TV programs. How many people can say they have flown to New York City with maggots and leeches to make an appearance on the Dr. Oz show? Well, I have, and it is a memory I will never forget.
I was born in North Carolina and moved with my family to Miami when I was eight years old. Growing up a mile away from the ocean and living the fast-paced lifestyle was a wonderful experience for me. I received a Communications degree in Advertising and Public Relations from Florida State University (Go Noles!)
My goal of becoming a publicist came true when I joined the PR team at SeaWorld. The experiences I have gained so far are unforgettable. I love making an impact in people’s lives, and I get to do that everyday through celebrity photo opportunities, sharing animal rescue stories and connecting guests to our animal ambassadors through media appearances. It is truly a dream job!
