Up, Up and Away! SeaWorld San Diego Returns Brown Pelicans to the Wild

SeaWorld San Diego recently returned seven brown pelicans back into the wild. The squadron of pelicans was rescued from all the way in Arizona several weeks ago after they were blown off course by monsoonal weather as they were flying north from their breeding areas in Baja.

Bubbles The Pilot Whale Continues To Make a Big Splash at SeaWorld San Diego

Something new and something, well . . .older. While SeaWorld San Diego's new dolphin show "Blue Horizons" is wowing guests every day, one of the performance's stars has been amazing visitors for decades.

Bubbles the pilot whale, who began her career more than 40 years ago, continues to thrill crowds with her jumps and dives, much to the delight of her dedicated fans.

SeaWorld San Diego Helps Rescue Young Gray Whale

A SeaWorld San Diego animal rescue team comprised of Eric Otjen and Jody Westberg helped disentangle a young California gray whale in Dana Pt. harbor, just north of San Diego. They whale, thought to be about a year old, had rope and gill netting around its mouth, pectoral flippers and tail fluke area. After nearly two hours of painstaking work, the netting was cut away and the whale was able to swim freely. While the young animal is still swimming in the vicinity of the harbor, it is hoped that it will soon be able to join the northern migration.
