
SeaWorld Orlando’s Animal Rescue Team Returns “Hitchcock the manatee” to Florida Waters

Thursday, September 30, 2010 – SeaWorld Orlando’s animal rescue team returned to the wild a manatee named Hitchcock. Manatees are an endangered, slow-moving, marine mammal sometimes known as sea cows and are found in many of Florida’s waterways.
SEAWORLD RELEASES SECOND REHABILITATED MANATEE THIS WEEK
On Thursday, August 26, SeaWorld Orlando Animal Rescue & Rehabilitation Team released a second manatee to the waters of KARS Park near the Kennedy Space Center in Merritt Island, Fla.

This week, SeaWorld Orlando's Animal Rescue Team successfully rescued a manatee from a canal in Satellite Beach, FL.

SeaWorld Returns Manatee Back To Florida Waters
On April 6, the SeaWorld Orlando Animal Rescue Team returned its eighth manatee back into Florida waters as followers on Twitter followed along. For the first time, SeaWorld live tweeted updates during the successful release via @seaworld_parks.
SEAWORLD ORLANDO RESCUES 11th COLD-STRESS MANATEE THIS YEAR
Despite a recent warm-up, manatees are still feeling the chill from Florida's unseasonably cold and extended winter. SeaWorld Orlando's Animal Rescue Team rescued a young female manatee suffering from cold stress on March 9. This was the park's 11th cold-stress related manatee rescue this year. The approximately five-foot-long sea cow was rescued from a canal near Satellite Beach, Fla.
