The zebra’s uniquely striped coat sets it apart from all other living creatures – making it easily recognized by even the smallest of children. But some species of zebra are facing an uncertain future.Grevy’s zebra is an endangered species in need of some help to survive. In the 1970s it was estimated that 15,000 of these unique creatures roamed the earth – but today that number is fewer than 3,000.

Fun Fact: When staring at a herd of Zebra, all of the animals may look alike – but in truth, their stripe patterns are as distinctive as fingerprints are in man.

With just 3,000 Grevy’s zebra left in the world, The Grevy’s Zebra Trust was established to address the urgent need to conserve this zebra species, found only in northern Kenya and southern Ethiopia where drought has been severe, habitat has shrunk and they are illegally killed and persecuted due to competition for resources with domestic cattle.
