It wouldn't be Halloween at SeaWorld without some animals... and today's Species Spotlight: Halloween Edition will feature a few of our "spooky" animals to keep the Halloween spirit going! You can meet these creepy looking critters at Aquatica, where they routinely meet guests at the Conservation Cabana.

Earlier this morning, members of the SeaWorld Orlando animal rescue team returned a rehabilitated, sub-adult loggerhead sea turtle back into the waters of the Canaveral National Sea Shore in Titusville, Fla. This is the fifth turtle release of 2012.

Yesterday morning, SeaWorld Orlando’s senior veterinarian performed surgery on a rescued sea turtle, removing a large fishing hook from its throat.

SeaWorld San Diego recently returned seven brown pelicans back into the wild. The squadron of pelicans was rescued from all the way in Arizona several weeks ago after they were blown off course by monsoonal weather as they were flying north from their breeding areas in Baja.

On Tuesday, April 26, 2011, SeaWorld Orlando’s aviculture department welcomed a tawny frogmouth chick into the family. The baby bird, which resembles a handful of cotton balls with a beak, has been cared for 24/7 by our experienced aviculturists.

Phoenix Hero is a gentoo penguin chick that hatched December 30, 2010 at SeaWorld Orlando, and his extraordinary name complements his extraordinary story of survival.
