In mid-April, a local resident found a great egret chick on the ground and brought it to SeaWorld’s animal care team for help. SeaWorld’s aviculturists have seen cases like this before and speculated that the chick probably fell from its nest.

Definitely the largest babies this year were killer whales -- tipping the scales at about 350 pounds! Both SeaWorld Orlando and San Antonio added to their killer whale families.

Busch Gardens Tampa Bay welcomed two endangered baby red-ruffed lemurs on April 21. The babies can be viewed by guests in Jambo Junction, where they reside with their mother and father, Maditra and Bozeny.
