Celebrate Arctic Sea Ice Day at SeaWorld San Diego!

Come and celebrate Arctic Sea Ice Day with us here at SeaWorld San Diego! This day was created by Polar Bears International, the world’s leading polar bear conservation group, and one of the non-profit organizations supported by the SeaWorld & Busch Gardens Conservation Fund.

Arctic Sea Ice Day was created to bring awareness to the longer ice-free periods happening along the Hudson Bay due to the planet warming. This causes the Hudson Bay population of polar bears to wait longer and longer each year on the arctic tundra to hunt for their food source – ice seals.

Please join us today in honoring the top predator of the Arctic, the polar bear, by taking actions to reduce your carbon footprint.

Here are a few tips on how to do just that:

Shop local; visit your local farmers market
Carpool, ride your bike to work or utilize use public transportation
Use reusable grocery bags

You can also join SeaWorld’s team on www.myactions.org, a website in which where you can share with your friends all of the cool ways you’re helping to have been reduce your carbon footprint. (You can even choose polar bears as the cause you’d like to team up with!)
